This year’s competition invited designs from all around the world under the theme of ‘Discoveries of the Louvre’.
UNIQLO has launched a Louvre t-shirt collection featuring the winning designs from its global UT Grand Prix competition.
This year’s competition invited designs from all around the world under the theme of ‘Discoveries of the Louvre’, and UNIQLO received more than 10,000 entries.
The winner of the Grand Prix prize was Hinz Pak from Japan. Of his design, Pak said: “My design playfully reimagines the Louvre Museum into an onigiri, reminding us that art is an enriching, daily necessity. It is a humorous take on the intersection of the Louvre and our everyday joy of a tasty onigiri.”
The Louvre prize went to Slovakia’s Laura Nochtova for her ‘Dogs of the Loure’ design featuring canines from iconic artwork, while Japan’s Ayahiko Kondo scooped the Sarah Andelman prize for his video game-inspired design.
Elsewhere, Taiwan’s Sonya Wang picked up the India Mahdavi prize for a silhouette focused design, and Japan’s Naoki Yoshizawa won the Kosuke Kawamura prize for his botanical-inspired work.
The collection is completed by four designs that were recognised with a Special Prize. These came from Spain’s Jhon Boy, Italy’s Elena Santacesaria, Taiwan’s Yun Shu Chou and Dillon Howling from the UK.
