“I was drawn to the design style of Crumble & Core with their ability to tell a story through imagery,” said Sindy Randall, Senior Product Manager at Ravensburger UK.
UK independent greeting card company Crumble & Core has signed a deal with Ravensburger for jigsaw puzzles.
The first jigsaw, titled Secret Garden, will feature a design of an English cottage created by Crumble & Core’s resident artist, Jilly Mercer.
“My work has always looked to capture quintessentially British imagery, and there is none more iconic than the countryside cottage and garden,” said Mercer.
“Having the opportunity to create a bespoke scene that jigsaw enthusiasts would find challenging but enjoyable was a new way for me to think about my work.”
Sindy Randall, Senior Product Manager at Ravensburger UK, added: “Cottages and country gardens are ever-popular themes among our jigsaw audience. I was particularly drawn to the design style of Crumble & Core with their ability to tell a story through imagery. This is captured perfectly in the company’s first jigsaw image with its slightly opened door inviting puzzlers’ curiosity in imagining what lies beyond.”
Secret Garden will be released as a 1,000-piece puzzle and is one the first designs to be rolled out in Ravensburger’s new-look packaging. The introduction of new box formats is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
The new 1000-piece jigsaw will be available at puzzle retailers worldwide from this month.
Crumble & Core’s puzzle deal follows a collaboration with McLaggan & Co for mugs and the firm’s expansion in the US market through Pavilion Gifts.
