Gwent to be “one of the hottest games of 2025”, says Hachette Boardgames UK

The game – which started life as a card game within The Witcher 3 – comes to the UK in Q3 2025.

Hachette Boardgames UK has teamed up with No Loading Games to bring Gwent to the UK in Q3 2025.

The game – based on the card game from The Witcher world – is one of several No Loading Games titles that Hachette will be bringing to the UK. Another is an Asterix title launching in early 2025.

Gwent, the card game from The Witcher world, is coming to UK tabletops in Q3 2025 after 10 years of demand.

It forms part of a new partnership between Hachette Boardgames UK and a brand new publisher, No Loading Games, whose focus is on bringing the biggest entertainment brands to tabletops. They will be collaborating to bring several other high-profile licenses to UK gamers, including Asterix in early 2025.

Gwent became popular enough as a ‘game within a game’ that it spawned spin-off titles like The Witcher: Thronebreaker, as well as a Gwent app which has reached over five million players on Android alone.

The card game version comes with over 400 cards and a playmat, replicating the full experience of the game from within The Witcher 3.

“Gwent is the biggest ‘game within a game’ in media history,” said Rob Trounce, Marketing Manager for Hachette Boardgames UK.

“After a 10 year wait, we are proud to be working alongside No Loading Games to bring this beloved game to tabletops in a stunning package… Whether it’s a souvenir for fans of Geralt and his adventures, or a game for competitive card game enthusiasts, Gwent will be one of the hottest games of 2025.”

Gwent will be available to UK retailers in Q3 2025, and Hachette Boardgames UK are now taking preorders.
