Studio Ghibli theme park readies for 2022 opening

The team behind Ghibli Park – a theme park based on the films of Studio Ghibli – has offered the first look at what visitors can expect will the park opens in 2022.

According to Tokyo NP, Ghibli Park will boast a 16-metre-tall replica of the castle from Howl’s Moving Castle, as well as an area inspired by Princess Mononoke.

The entire park, based at Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park, will span five zones. Youth Hill, Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse and Dondoko Forest will open in the autumn of 2022, while Witch Valley and Princess Mononoke Village are set to open a year later.
