With BLE just around the corner, we picked the brains of regular attendees and exhibitors on how to make the most of the show. Up next is Laurent Taieb, Head of Licensing for Princess Sam Consumer Products.
Laurent, thanks for making time. When did you first attend BLE?
I’m not sure of the precise date, but a reasonable guess would be that I have been attending BLE for more than 20 years now. My first BLE was with CPLG, which would be some time ago…
What’s been your best BLE memory?
A very recent one! Last year saw the announcement of the launch of the France Licensing Day & Licensing International Awards, in which I played a modest role. A very welcome and successful initiative.
Absolutely. Now, what makes for a good BLE meeting?
A meeting that will lead to a positive outcome is always a target. The ideal result is a positive outcome within a matter of weeks!
What’s your key aim for this year’s BLE?
In general, my team’s objective is to build on the global broadcast success of Tara Duncan and show the licensing community its strength as a brand. More specifically, we already have some good prospects, so I’ll be pursuing these with potential licensees. Related to this, our network of agents is growing fast, so supporting our agents will also be part of the brand promotion process.
Before we let you go, can you give us a BLE tip or recommendation? Could be a restaurant, pub, venue or show advice…
Stay right to the end of the show. You’ll find yourself with a bit more time and, in my experience, may even end up closing the best deal of the week!
Good tip! Last question: Where is Princess Sam housed at this year’s show?
We’re at A162.
Great stuff. Thanks again!
