Hasbro has detailed its licensing plans around the 40th anniversary celebrations for its Transformers franchise.
In fashion, Mad Engine has launched a line of t-shirts featuring artwork based on the original Transformers comics, while RSVLTS will soon debut an anniversary collection of apparel.
On the toy front, Jada Toys is launching two Transformers x Ghostbusters mash-ups this Fall with the HWR Ghostbusters Ecto-1 with Optimus Prime G1 graphics and the HWR G1 Optimus Prime with Ghostbusters Ecto-1 graphics. Elsewhere, Super7 will be launching new Transformers characters in Blind Box, ReAction, and Super Cyborg formats, while Funko will have Pop! Figures.
There’s also be XL collectable pins from FiGPiN, limited edition figures from threezero and a silver collectable of the first Transformers comic cover from New Zealand Mint. A series of Transformers-themed coins will follow that launch.
Skybound Entertainment will be launching new comic book and graphic novel collections. As part of the new shared Energon Universe from Robert Kirkman, Transformers, G.I. JOE and Void Rivals characters will come together for a special launch. A new graphic novel compendium series from Skybound that collects the Transformers series from Marvel Comics will also launch Fall 2024.
A new set of nearly 200 premium trading cards will also land soon from Dynamite Entertainment. These will feature fan-favorite characters from the brand’s Generation 1 era, showcasing classic art styles from an international array of top artists and Hasbro’s design archives.
An anniversary vinyl album titled ‘Hasbro presents Transformers: Music from the Original Animated Series’ will boast music from the 1984 show, as well as bonus tracks and a mixture of remastered orchestral and Eighties-inspired synth tracks from the original tapes by composer Rob Walsh. Sticking with music, Jlab will also launch a collection of headphones marking the milestone.
